URBAN FASHION: A STYLE INCREASINGLY PRESENT IN SOCIETY
Urban fashion emerged unexpectedly.
“In principle created to provide comfort to the skaters, little by little it was evolving and today it has risen even to the fashion shows. A fact that nobody could have foreseen, but which has succeeded in seducing the luxury industry.”
“This urban style was born in the seventies in the United States so that people could wear a type of clothing more comfortable than aesthetic.”
The skaters were the first to fall under the influence of urban fashion. These skateboard lovers needed comfortable clothes to go on it, that is, a suitable set for sports.
Who wears urban clothes?
When this new fashion was born, sportsmen wore garments of two brands created in the nineties especially for them, although little by little other companies were emerging that were dedicated to the sale of urban clothing, some of which even exist today. However, all focused on the creation of clothing for a single type of customer: skaters.
“Over the years, urban fashion evolved, and not only skaters used this type of clothing, but also the "Hypebest", a term that refers to those people who understand a lot of fashion and style in general. For this reason, many companies had to take an important turn to adapt to the new demands of society, but others also emerged, such as Polynesia, which has urban clothing for both men and women.”
The "Hypebest" do not take into account the origins of fashion, culture or the history of a brand, they only want to wear urban clothes no matter what exactly the thing is about. And nowadays many people use this type of clothing for your comfort, since with it you can carry out all the activities of your day to day, but also for your style.
How many urban fashion styles exist?
Some fashion experts point out that there are three styles around the world of urban clothing: sports, intermediate and luxury. The sport style is more affordable for everyone at the price level, but despite being a fashion created for street people, it extends even to the world of haute couture.
The intermediate style is more refined and careful than the previous one. However, the style of luxury is presented even on the catwalks, and such is its success that even the designers of large brands have pointed to this trend.
